Denial and Anger = very loud emotion, anger being traditionally associated with Fire. Maybe a bull to call to mind "bull-headedness," though I imagine the language barrier stops that, but it's how I'd design it, anyway. I'd probably make it a Dark type to compliment the danger of the emotions and the bull. Probably include some design choices from matadors, like with spikes out its back and red ribbons hanging off its horns.

Bargaining and depression = cold and emptiness, so I would 100% include Ice as a type in it. Bargaining is a bit harder to pin down, but I'd describe it as longing for something unobtainable, and the best type that would fit that would probably be... ...ok this is a leap of logic, but what about gold? Steel-type? Building on a matador=spain background of the DA legend, it could have influence from El Dorado, as the city of gold was, naturally, never found. Not to mention the death and depression of the people of south america. So, I'll say Ice/Steel, potentially a Jaguar to balance the bull and represent the mayan (or was it aztec?) people.

Also, Denial and Anger come before Bargaining and Depression, and they're more dangerous, so they hit it super-effectively. Not too happy with it, but it's a good 5 minute idea.

For Acceptance, I think the only way you could get away with it in Pokémon is with a Fighting-type. At the end of a journey, for example, or justice overall. Plus, it beats the previous two handily. It's a bit hard to put into logic, but I'd also nominate it to be a Ground/Fighting, kind of because it's grounded, kind of because of bones, etc. As for design, it would have to include a skeleton, but idk why. My logic stopped there and that's what you have. Hope it sounds good enough.

Didn't know about that dichotomy, sounds super relevant. Just incorporate them into it and Japan suddenly gets a lot more interested.
