The real answer is because it has a shit typing, isn't usable until the postgame in its debut, and most people aren't even aware it's a gen 2 mon. Pretty cool design, at least.

I love Magcargo but GF doesn't

Design is good, but for being a late game Pokemon in GSC/HGSS, it evolved way too late, has a bad defensive typing, and bad stats.

It's a gen 2 mon available in Kanto for some reason, with OK stats, neat movepool and terrible defensive typing to the point only an alolan form can save it.

Being completly hones, I've always wanted to train one. Maybe in USUM if its somehow on the regional dex.

I dont get it, it has a cool design and a decent movepool, yet why does it have such bad stats and typing?
GF what was your vision for this?

Fire/rock is an awful type unless you are a fast pokemon or have an incredibly high Attack/special attack(With at least power gem) so having you in a trick room team is worth.

So yeah magcargo evolves too late and every stat that is not defense is pretty low, but the design is solid and I wish it was worth something more than just an egg incubator.
