Probably because vp is shit at competitive and doesn't know how to use it properly. Slap it on any doubles team with another mon that knows discharge and you have a terrifying sweeper with unresisted coverage. I made it to 1500+ on showdown with and Electivire.

I don't really know. He has a nice design at least in terms of being an evolution of Electabuzz. I don't really like either one's design much, but Electivire does look good next to Electabuzz, and they go together well. And he's a good Pokemon too, I'm pretty sure. I can't really find anything hateable about him.

I feel the same way about Lucario. I don't care that the normies and furries like it too, that they like it doesn't mean no one else is allowed to like it. I like Electivire as well, I just wish Jynx got an evo too so the trio could come back together.
