Vileplume has poisonpowder, which doesn't affect a poison-type Oddish. Due to an oversight in the programming, Erika will see that Oddish is a grass type and constantly try to use Vileplume's only poison attack on it.

That's also why Pokemon who have Agility (a psychic move) will spam it nonstop against poison Pokemon.

That's nothing dude. On my very first play through of red, I didn't know viridian forest connects to pewter so I spent about a week stuck there raising my charmander. When I finally made it out to Brock I had a level 32 charmeleon.... by the time I made it to misty it was a charizard.
