How do I play pokemon with chansey as my starter

Game sharkie

1. Breed a Chansey
2. Get it to Level 4
3. Use a Rare Candy to bring it up to Level 5 with no run-over experience points.
4. Trade it to a bud.
5. Start a new game
6. Catch an early route Pokemon
7. Play until trading is available
8. Trade the Pokemon you caught for the Chansey that is in your bud's possession.
9. Box your starter and use Chansey instead

It's that easy. Only side effect is that your Chansey will gain extra EXP for being a traded Pokemon, and you gotta be careful not to put it over the level threshold where it will stop listening to you. That honestly shouldn't be an issue, though.

Yep, you can trade eggs over wireless (not over the Internet afaik though). I didn't know they were tradeable either until recently. I'm not sure when they became tradeable or if you could always trade them, but I know it works in Gen 5 at the very least.
