next to it sunflora stats are not too shabby
105 spa/85 spd/75 hp is pretty okay ingame

The thing about ingame is most opponents don't have any EVs and/or high IVs, so pokemon that would be bad otherwise can fill in the gap under the right cirumstances. Chances are if you caught a Sunkern in National Park and kept it with you the whole time, its EVs are close to max and that helped it stand up to Kingdra's Dragon Pulses. In game performance is only a partially valid assessment.
