If Masuda really likes to pander to 12 year old kids with the attention spam of 5 seconds then
why the fuck is having a competitive viable mon
so fucking grindy and RNG infested ? Does he
really think some kid is gonna spend is whole day trying to get a pokemon with a beneficial nature, EV grind it and in some cases the right hp ?
>inb4 super and hyper training
They actually made a step back on SM when they removed super that alowed you to EV train in 1 hour and know you gotta wait 2 days to EV train with poke pelago and you can only hyper train when a mon is at level 100 instead of 50 wich is the level GF uses on competitive tournaments
because they're allergic to changing core mechanics

Super Training was for newbs and noobs anyway. People who aren't new to the series and people who actually learn the mechanics to play at the best level didn't use slow ass Super Training.
In-game you don't need EVs beyond the random shit you get from the random trainers so casuals don't need it and it wasn't for competitive players either because horders were faster.
A full party in 15 minutes fully EV trained and to Level 50 in half an hour or one in an hour or more ONLY EV trained? Yeah, no competitive player was using it.
They purposely laid out hordes for each EV and had areas where the hordes could overlap for different builds. Have a special sweeper to train, for example? Head to Route 11 with your Sweet Scenter (which calls ONLY hordes in Gen 6 and does so 100% of the time) where Wingull and Electrike (Speed) are the most common hordes and Route 119 where Oddish (Special Attack) is the ONLY horde.
Super Training was a waste of time feature when they introduced hordes at the same time.
Now in Gen 7 hordes can't be a thing because 3DS when they shouldn't be but the slightly more time eating and generally more annoying feature of SOS calls have replaced them since you only need 7 kills at most to max out a stat assuming Pokérus and power item which gives you 36 per kill even for something that gives just 1 EV by default.
Again making Super Training to someone who knows what the fuck they're doing, worthless and that's why the feature that never should've existed was rightly removed.

Oops, meant 118 there.

No. This is coincidence. The only planned methods of controlled EV training were the Macho Brace, the Power hold items, Super Training, and Poke Pelago.
The fact that certain hoard battles were more efficient at EV training than other methods was just a byproduct of arbitrary decisions of what Pokemon appear where.
