I don't think they would make Red smile his art and ingame models always show him scowling. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if he's scowling through the whole game

Does anyone remember the scene where they confront Faba at Aether? They have the camera zoom in on each character's face reacting to the situation, it showed Gladion looking serious, Hau looking chill/grinning, and the player with the same blank face as always. Unintentional or not, it was hilarious to see.
