I think pokemon games are gestalt, and should be viewed as a whole. All of them have their specific problems, but as a complete game, platinum is certainly the one I like most.

Like some of the technology they experimented was cool. I had my first Wi-Fi battles on it, and you could store your team on a wiimote, but the game itself was so bare bones compared to every game before it. The intro to the series had little mini games, the 3rd gen had an entire story mode, then the 4th gen follows it up by... taking all that out. The game is almost unplayable if you don't have a 4th gen game to pair it with too, then you can only use the rental Pokemon that just suck so hard

HGSS amazed me with just how much content they packed in. Not just the 16 gym battles, but also being able to challenge the leaders again, an expansive battle tower, migrant Pokemon, daily events, a customizable safari zone, bug catching contests. It puts modern games to shame with just how much you can do.

And then PBR amazes me on the opposite end, by just how barren the game is. It's like hgss was gamefreak trying to do some fans after two of the worst executed games in the franchise

SM are too low. Should be near the top, behind Emerald and maybe HGSS. Should definitely be in front of BW (original and sequels) and Crystal.

No way FRLG tie with RBY, a glitch-infested, ghost-can't-hit-psychic generation. FRLG should at least be above original Gold and Silver and Ruby and Sapphire. Only thing it was really missing was night time mechanics.

Ruby and Sapphire are not better than OR&AS. The fuck? Ruby and Sapphire were one of the worst games ever. No backwards compatibility, huge list of missing mons from past gens, boring, longass surfing routes that almost put Zelda Wind Waker (GC version) to shame.

Stadium and Battle Revolution shouldn't beat XY, as those games were literally just battles in 3D. That's it. No storylines, no in-game journey, breeding, etc. XY has 3D battles and all the above. The graphics may not be better or the models as smooth, but it's still 3D. Plus it introduced amie/refresh, a way to finally bond with your prized mons and treat them like pets instead of emotionless fighting machines.

HGSS are objectively superior than GSC, same than FRLG is to RBY, Platinum to DP and Emerald to RS, so I don't see any reason for listing them.
ORAS and Emerald should both be listed though because, even if ORAS has some better features, Emerald has a better difficulty, a slightly better "story" and yes, the Battle Frontier, even if you are a denialfag about it.
That said, I find your ranking pretty good, though mine would be a bit different:
BW2 > Platinum = Emerald > HGSS = BW (I think most of us agree that at least these 5 are the best main games) > FRLG > SM > ORAS = XY
