9/10 artwork and also one of my favorite starters, but 4/10 model in-game. I've seen hack ROMs with better delphox sprites than what it looks like in the actual 3DS games.

I used to think of it as going either way too. But that's more because I've witnessed fox shenanigans previously and just think of them as skittish. People like to sexualize Braixen thanks to its "skirt", but I guess that's still not enough for me to think of it as being impossible of there being a male one.

At least people try to make it look female (in their own quirky ways) whereas in Brionne/Primarina art, it looks like people don't even have to try. Even when a artist specifically says this Brionne or that Primarina is male, my mind just drifts into the female spectrum every time I look at them (unless they're drawn in a masculine mocking way, lel).

By the by, 8/10, almost 9 design wise, wish I could say the same about its model, but let's leave it as 6/10, giving it less feels like I'm shitting on it.

sometimes looking at the boring 3d models, I almost wish we could go back to the hilariously awful sprites of RBY instead

Tecnically Delphox Fanbase is thanks to all the fanart. In game not is really good, anime was just a evolution rival for Serena's Braixen.

It's too human-like, and just looks really awkward. It's head looks really small compared to the rest of its body, making it look even dumber. Plus it's furbait.

Fennekin and Braixen have great designs, though.

It's a bad pokemon. Why is Fire/Psychic such a bad typing when it comes to synergy?

It's not the worst fire starter, but it's really close, it's lucky that shit like Typhlosion and Emboar exist that take away the attention.
