This. Only acceptable stage is Rowlet, it's a cute round owl. Sadly its evolutions are just as shit as the other, but I didn't give a fuck. I carried that little guy all the way to the end.

Honestly, I keep my expectations low, because I would rather be surprised if they will be good than be disappointed if they will be shit (which is more likely.)
They should bring sitting and toggled running shoes from HGSS. Pressing B all the times makes me feel that this button will break someday.

Honestly, just about the same as you.I honestly kinda miss the bike. I mean, Tauros by itself does seem to hatch eggs faster even though it has the whole B stuff, but it feels odd to play a Pokemon game and not having that one experience I've been used to for so long. The incredibly cheery themes, I didn't even mind the whole "bike theme over city/route/town theme" since it only lasts until you move to another place whilst in the bike. Tauros theme got really, really, really worn out though, man. Probably the only riding theme I won't miss.

The tauros theme gets really grating and boring after a while, and I've always felt that movement on the bike was a lot more smooth than movement on tauros.

That's why when I hatch eggs I just turn music off. The theme was cheerful and stuff, but became boring after 2nd loop. Also, I miss the bike too.
A little addition: They should do something with bottom screen to and if possible, get rid if RotomDex. They should do with it something like ORAS did (DexNav) or GHSS (simple but effective way to navigate through features)

Low expectations because SM were my least favorite Pokemon games so far. I agree that sitting should be brought back.
At least the trainer is cute. I unironically think that brighter colors would be an improvement.
