It wasn't something that I was interested in at first, but after finding so many shinies in Gen 6, I originally wanted to hunt for ones that I thought had a cool color scheme like turquoise, blue and black. After getting so many shinies, I pretty much said fuck it and decided to go for a shiny living dex. It's a work in progress, but I've gotten very far in it.

You're doing it all wrong, if you get the shiny on Box 26, you'll have to hatch 26 boxes all over again. If you're saving in the middle of it you're fucking it up.

Hatch 1 box at a time. Save before putting the karp in, and take the Karp out on egg #30.

As far as i'm aware, it's pretty tough to get injectors working, no? I could be ignorant on it, for sure, but I thought only hacked 3ds could gen Pokemon and stuff?

In any case, I figured most do shw for the thrill, but I notice there aren't as many injector threads as usual and just wanted to ask the genpop their opinion on someone offering to gen specifically for shw people.

In all honesty, I have no idea how PkHex or injecting works, but there's probably some explanation in pre-existing threads or maybe in /gga/. I guess as far as getting something injected would probably be as far as maybe a Smeargle to hunt with or a good IV Ditto, even though the latter isn't that hard to obtain, as well as making usage of the hexaflawless seven. I'm not speaking for everyone since maybe there's a few here who would be into that, but the majority are probably against receiving anything genned.

On a side note, got my Vulpix, and the entirety of the Vulpix line is complete.

I would since the only exceptions I would make towards shinies are event legendaries (Rayquaza, Xerneas, Yveltal, etc.); however, I didn't get a chance to participate in the competition to acquire the shiny Mewtwo, so I'm stuck SRing for it.

Only when I really like the shiny colours, or vastly prefer them to the usual palette. Other than that it's a nice feeling when you finally get what you're after.

Nope, my favourite is dragonite and I prefer its regular colours, although I do like the shiny.

These are all the shinies I've obtained in Moon over the last few months, besides the lurantis and ribombee which I obtained during my initial playthrough. I've generally been super lucky with them, especially with ribombee and pikipek, which were random encounters. It seems my luck is running thin now that I'm 28 boxes into this eevee hunt. Hopefully it'll shine soon.

In Unown's location, it was easier since you could do a couple of encounters even when it's sped up, but I like to mix up running after the 4th encounter, leaving the area, as well as just straight-up continuing the chain when the Pokemon moves faster. I never knew about the bonus chances, but does it only apply to caves or overall? I've gotten shinies way before 50 but in the grass.

I don't normally, but I like Staraptor a lot and would like to breed a shiny competitive one.

Though I do really like Kecleon's shiny, my favorite is Smeargle, mostly for nostalgia purposes. He was the first one I purposely hunted, and I use him to chain for other shinies, hidden abilities, and just catching Pokemon.

I want a Shiny Vulpix in a specific ball.
I have a Male English Vulpix in the ball and a Female Japanese Ninetales in a regular ball. Do I need to evolve the Male to pass on its ball or have I just been unlucky in only receiving eggs with regular balls.

Males can only pass the pokeball if bred with ditto, you can get a foreign ditto and breed it with your male one, then you can get one with your desired nature and attach an everstone to it, don't worry about IV's, they can be fixed with bottle caps, but nature cannot be fixed, and then you will get your shinymon on your desired pokeball with the perfect nature
