Magearna has you as the OT and is programmed in the game as a normal gift once activated (Thus why Syncronize works on it), Magearna just doesn't let you activate the event until post game.

I dunno, I just know that with the 3 perfect I.V's for legends, odds of HP Ice are about 11%. They tend to run u-turn to circumvent volt switch blockers so it's not like having a perfect attack with the rest hyper trained will hurt you any.
