Cynthia is incredibly overrated.

Man, this is a hard one. I really like Cynthia due to the challenge that she gave me in Diamond, but Lance is pretty memorable too. I really liked Iris' straightforward challenge too and her will to improve even further from it.

For some reason, Gary/Blue ends up being very forgettable to me. Not saying I don't enjoy the theme or the battle itself, just... pretty meh. He still fares better than the rest.

I really liked Alder's design and his chill 'tude, but that's it for me. Steven never struck me as this much of a big deal. Diantha, I only challenged her once, something about her doesn't strike me as a Champion. Kukui? Not even a Champion, rather a wanna-be Champion.

Lance has the best theme and has an incredibly cool design combined with a interesting backstory.

Blue original Champion and is the original asshole smug rival so his fight was a perfect final battle.

Steven is cool as hell in general.

Alder is unique as an aging trainer who is ready to retire with a design that screams powerful veteran who knows his shit

Iris is a fun as hell character and her theme/battle background is incredibly memorable.

Cynthia is honestly pretty bland but is saved by being perhaps the hardest champion battle and a great theme. people also saify the shit,out,of her and want to fuck her really hard.

Diantha is just...bland and unmemorable.

I haven't played SM but,I would probably rate Kukui as being on Blue's level.

cynthia - loved the way she treated the MC in the games showing how she
really cared for trainers and pokemon alike while being sophisticated and waifuable

the rest of the champs can't really say much
however in terms of

Iris - not really exceptional but i didn't like how she wasn't much of an appearance
in the B2w2 where she championed. achievement-wise though she's
impressively young to champion the league whist also being a gym leader 2
years prior, but as a leader really lacking in presence

Alder - unremarkable as well, but he get's hate ? why ? i liked the dude.
he was like cynthia in the way he interacts with the MC in BW and B2W2.
i believe the only real reason to discount his likeability is the fact that he lost
to N, but you can't blame him as hes been losing his vibe ever since he
lost his original volcarona.
I believe had the series taken place when his original volcarona was alike
he would have been in his prime and we would have seen how more awesome
he might have been
