The scenarios, maybe. It's just shit like "Cactowl, Platypour, and Zerudez Fire Bear are the starters" or "New cover Legendaries are inspired black-on-white Koi fish" that makes me think that.

They've said in interviews that one half of GF worked on Gen 5 while the other half worked on Gen 6 iirc

The BW1 team were on all of XY's development, the HGSS/BW2 team came on as well for the final year, and no splits have occurred since then. Now they just work on multiple games at once.

The real issues are Game Freak's changing design philosophies, which could already be seen creeping in with Gen V.
