I like everything but Primarina. All the designs are solid but Primarina isn't that nice to look at. There are prettier waifumon. Swampert was my first starter so I'm a bit biased there.

It seems to stem from people generally not liking monkeys and/or monkey designs in general.

Back in the days, I mostly had a blind run but if I were to take a pick again, I'd still go Chimchar despite not being all that fond of monkeys (or at least, it's not a animal I don't have a strong opinion against). Piplup's cute, but I never seem to have a good relation with Water type starters (still goes to this day, Popplio was the closest I've ever been to picking one). I wouldn't actually mind picking Turtwig, if not to experiment with it. In the end, I really end up liking Infernape due to its color scheme and its concept.

It's not that I didn't expect it. I actually prefer Brionne to Popplio. It's mostly the shape of the torso and the accessories in the hair for me. The freeflowing hair in that one official art of it does a lot to make it better. But the shape of the torse reminds me of a greyhound with flippers. I understand that it appeals to some people, but I prefer the fat seals like Walrein and Dewgong. It's just a design style that I personally dislike.

Also I just like the other water starters a LOT so it might not even top Samurott to me if my biggest problems got fixed. But it'd get close to Wotter I think.
