Don't have selective blindness. I said effort AND results. Doesn't matter if you tried really hard, if somebody did it better, then you have to keep trying, or try harder. The person who did it better deserves acknowledgement of their performance, and this is in no way rude to the people who did not perform as well as this specific individual did.

Yes, but you see, that's not what you said before. You explicitly said it's rude to praise somebody over someone else when you think they all gave the same effort, and I'm saying that it isn't because there is no intrinsic negativity emanating from somebody outperforming somebody else being praised and rewarded over the people being out-performed, regardless of the effort anybody put into their work, since this can't be gauged objectively or accurately.

Please stop dodging the argument: Praising somebody is NOT rude to anybody else, unless the praise itself is either (A) insulting somebody, or (B) being made about something that was insulting for somebody. In this case, posting an image we think an artist excelled on does NOT match the criteria for either, and is therefore NOT rude.
