I remember it. I remember going to blockbuster renting pokemon episode videos that night. And my uncle got me that giant ass Pikachu plush. Uve made me remember one of the best days of my life. I was 7. I also remember going to toys r us getting a small binder and 1 pack of cards( only 1!!! Haha). Fossil. Got a holo Articuno. Thank u I love this memory

Blue Rescue Team, 2005
The Advanced and Original series anime and Pokemon 4ever was all I knew of Pokemon before that, considering I grew up on the PC and Sega Saturn, so I got into the handheld (Pokemon) game market a bit later.

Pokemon Stadium, 2001. I saw the anime first, so because of that I would always choose rental Pokemon. And when I'm bored with battles, I play the minigames non-stop. I never own a Gameboy Cable, so I never got to connect any of my RBY Pokemon to Stadium.

I played Yellow months later, and I was the most autistic player ever. I first thought that Yellow would be about taking care of a pet Pikachu, but whenever I enter a wild Pokemon battle, I used to think it's a glitch and I would cry about it. Nevermind the fact that I was okay with the battles in Stadium, but not in Yellow for some reason.

I recieved a copy of Blue for my seventh birthday in 1998. I have played every single mainline pokemon game from that day on. I like them all.
Or I want to, but SM's story is so atrociously executed I can't bring myself to be okay with it. Lily isn't even all that bad as a character, it's just the fact she's forced upon you, you have to fix all of her problems with no input, and she basically has no development other than changing clothes and telling her mom that she's a cunt.

had it stolen from me (not surreptitiously, literally ripped out of my hand at school stolen from me by an 8th grader) in March of 1999 when I was in 6th grade.

Red in '98. I was 7.

Pokemon White, 2010. I followed the anime for a while, but wasn't really into the games. Older bro kept egging me on to get into it, and Gen 5 were released for a couple months at the time, I took a look at the box legends and thought "they're kinda cool," until I saw Zekrom's typing.

I liked Dragon types and Electric types the most, but combining them and slapping it on a turbine-tail black beast like that?Count me in. I'll admit, liked the Unova Region. From the cities/towns like Nacrene, Castelia, Nimbasa, Undella with the Cynthia battle that takes place there, Lacunosa, area's like Skyarrow Bridge, Dragonspiral Tower, Pokemon like Golurk, Braviary, Haxorus, Bisharp, Mienshao, the Swords of Justice, etc. Disappointed in the starter evos, but I learned to love them and other gen V mons over time if it meant getting Zekrom and fucking up Team Plasma, the Elite Four, and the Champion.

That dragon is still one of my favorite Pokemon to this day, the reason I started playing Pokemon in the first place.
