I'm not super into Pokémon anymore, I used to collect little Walmart cards and play the DS and gameboy games, but after watching some videos I really want to get into it again. Where should I start, in terms of collecting cards, which consoles to get, and which games. Any advice is appreciated.

Since you mentioned DS, the following are well received on here and /v/.
Platinum, HeartGold/SoulSilver, and Black/White 2. Since you're starting again or whatever, HG/SS would probably be best to reenter the series with so you'd be familiar with the old pokes and new mechanics in the series.

Only ultra sun and ultra moon are 3ds exclusive. You can play the other 2 on any kind of ds
