The main issue with making a mainline anime series based off the games is it'd be insulting to the ashanime and could possible sway fans from one to another, a lot of people still enjoy the ashnime so doing something that'd attract this much attention would be like tossing dirt into their fans

Fun fact: the director of Pokémon generations is Daiki Tomiyasu, same director of Origins episode 4 and Pokémon Sun and Moon
