Depends on what you're looking for. I random encountered a shiny absol in white 2 a week ago and was completely disgusted. I get no pleasure from a super rare pokemon that is an unusable shitmon cause of nature/moves/ivs. (Ivs aren't an issue anymore.) Sounds a little snobish, but I'm just being honest. Hate random shinys.

that probably comes down to how you look at pokemon. if you want a full-on competitive-ready pokemon, then that makes sense.

but if you're the karenfag-type who likes a pokemon first and does what they can with their favourites, rather than engineering a pokemon to be good from the start.

that said, being able to obtain egg moves in any other way would be nice. I could make my shiny cloyster (first random encounter shiny) half decent (it's got skill link, but not icicle crash)

Using Sweet scent for Aron in granite cave over 2000 encounters and no Shiny. Going to try to breed him now

Treeko need to get an outstanding female that knows dragonbreath. I also tried getting one through the GTS but I dont have a Darkai to trade.so. right now Im trying to get a female treeko with outstanding potential so I can breed it with a dragon type and then get another outstanding so I can breed that offspring with my foreign italian treeko

From what a guy in another thread told me the bumped the odds of a mother passing it to 80% and now a father has 60% chance of passing it down. the answer to that is that some pokemon can't be SoS-chained, some people want specific natures/IVs/egg moves, or some pokemon are just a pain to SoS-Chain.

OK so here is a problem I have run into. For weeks on end my wife has been trying to hatch a shiny mudbray to no avail.

Fast forward to today on the 2nd egg I hatched after getting home from work was a shiny Alolan grimer that I had MM'd with the same species. Is it possible to use the swap method to get a shiny mudbray in it's place using a Japanese ditto and an American mudbray at the moment there is a tyrunt egg being held by the lady outside.

Klefki, on the other hand, is dumb, violates my one if not two of my three rules of creatureliness, and combines superior steel with frikkin' fairy. it's just a bad time, and tied with klink for my least favourite pokemon of all time.

If I tweak in DP to sr for a shiny Arceus, will it get through bank? I read something about getting it to level 100 so the game thinks it's an event Arceus. Does that actually work or am I getting memed on?

Because its fun plus I never had any real luck with shiny hunting prior to gen 5 where I got my first shiny but now I'm able to hunt them with ease, it also helps to swap between different shiny hunts I still have yet to get an eevee after 6 different SOS encounters but I don't let it discourage me, especially after getting 2-3 average a week anyways
