In every Pokemon game I've played, I picked the grass starter, except for Chikorita. When is Gamefreak going to buff this type?
Grass is not a bad type
>>32934846
What's wrong with chikorita?
Grass is the only type that has always had good starters. (Except for Chesnaught, fuck that ugly piece of shit)
didn't even realize I was a grassfag until SM, turns out half my favorites happen to be grass types
>>32934889
There's literally not a single good looking grass starter
>>32934870
I want to fuck her
>>32934846
Was a grassing until Gen 5. Still love Venusaur and Torterra though.
>>32934892
hey I designed this for fighting types. Niice
Better watch out for poison or it'll kick your grass
>>32934846
>Bulbasaur, simple concept that still holds up, great tank
>Chikorita, unique design among grass types, probably my favorite starter, funny surprise sweeper
>Treeko, great design and pretty fun movepool
>Turtwig, cute all the way through, even if it sucks
>Snivy, sneks are great and Contrary Leaf Storm is good
>Chespin, one of the few Fighting-types I like; also, I usually play paladin/knight type characters in TRPGs, so it fits perfectly
Gen 7 ruined it by making the best starter Water instead
>>32935026
>meganium = funny surprise sweeper
>brutally outclassed in SD sets by torterra
>torterra is the one that sucks
what did he mean by this
>>32934994
But what if Grass/Poison?
I've always been a grassfag, but always chose water starters until Gen 4. Chose grass ever since, though, not counting remakes.
>>32935026
What's wrong with Deci aside from not being as good as Tsareena?
>>32935046
Torterra has lower Sp.D., lower Speed, 4x weakness to ice, and only slightly higher HP.
>>32935059
Just not a big fan of its design overall.
>>32934889
true, and even then i don't dislike chesnaught
>bulbasaur line
>fucking bayleef. fucking bayleef
>treecko line has always been popular and fantastic
>torterra, the beast
>smugleaf
>rowlet line
Grass-types just need Ground coverage like how Water gets Ice and Fire gets Grass.
Also, best Grass-type coming through.
>>32935093
Good taste
>>32935026
primarina is worst lul
>>32935076
yes, but it also has ground STAB, rock polish to combo with SD, and passable attack
neither is very good, but if I was forced to bring one to an OU match I'd pick torterra 10 time out of 10
>>32935026
I think you mean Gen 6 ruined it.
>Fucking frogs man.
>>32934889
Chesnaught is fucking great. Sceptile Sceptile the fucking inbred mong.
Don't mind me, just posting best grass type.
>>32935096
Second best right here though.
>>32935343
Shitnaughtfags are not welcome here, and that includes you.
It's the most patrician monotype alongside Ice and Rock, precisely because you're weak to so many types that you need to put a lot of thought into your teambuilding to avoid autolosing to random shit you're pretty likely to face.
Ludicolo and Rotom-Mow are two of my favorite mons to include on my monograss teams. They're usually overlooked in standard competitive due to being outclassed, but fill vital roles here and play in unique way (Rain Dance sweeper, pivot with variable offense and utility).
Not a fan of Cradily, despite seeing it used a lot and having some (bad) experience myself. How do you guys like to run it?
