The only one that doesn't fit thematically is Manaphy. Now, GF introduces a theme with fairys being associated to the moon (i.e Moonblast being the strongest fairy move). Why they included Clefable but not Cresselia, Lunala, or even Lunatone?

Are you an idiot or something? Also, Mew and Jirachi have no reason to be fairy. The former is a psychic fetus containing the genetics of all mons, so even Normal type would be more appropriate. The latter is tied directly to space and stars, hence Psychic/Steel.

I assume using the moon as a power source for a magical attack is a fairy/nature(think of ceremonies/rituals) thing. Whereas resembling the moon is more space-related/celestial. When you look at the moon, would you assume that it's tied with the fair folk instead of being an aspect of the universe? Not at all. Moonblast is no different from Solarbeam, with plants using the sun's energy to create an attack, but that doesn't make the sun itself related to plants.

And speaking of ceremonies/rituals, doesn't the Clefairy line continuously dance around the moon like they have some obsession with it? They aren't the moon pokemon, but they worship it as if its something special or even magical and such. I guess I'm only one who sees what they where going for with the Moon = Fairy association. It doesn't seem as inconsistent as most people think it is.

No, don't worry, this isn't that kind of post. That greentext is just to show what happens anytime someone posts luxray being part dark.

What I actually want to know, is WHY everybody that would respond with a post like the above greentext thinks luxray being a dark type thinks it is only because of color coding.

Luxray looks menacing. But that's not reason enough to be dark type, you'd say, fair enough. However, its dex entries literally state it uses x-ray vision to search for hidden prey to eat. It can track you down and even if you hide, it will see through and catch you. That's more deserving of a dark typing that anything alolan muk or skuntank have going on for them. Yet no one ever mentions those, but whenever luxray being dark is brought up, "hurr durr it is black so it must be dark" is the only argument against it.
