>OU in every single generation
What went so right?
Not in Gen 1, dumbass.

134 Attack with high bp stab in stone miss.
Amazing offensive typing.
It has every coverage move it could ever want.
Retarded special bulk with sand up.
Pursuit.

>shit defensive type
>slow as fuck
>best STABs are 80BP and stone miss
>mediocre mega
>went through 6 gens of power creep
>still OU
Simply the best.
I thought it ducked under in gen 6 and 7? Maybe not the whole time, but it's definitely become weaker.
If it hasn't went down to UU or BL yet, then it will within the next gen, or maybe the one after, I predict. It's strong, but lots of other mons are stronger. It's bulky, but its typing has a lot of weaknesses. In fact, I feel like it's only OU because there are basically no good defensive Dark-types, really. Bar some obvious stuff like MegaGyara. Nothing to switch into the Ghost, Dark, and Psychic moves that have been buffed so much recently.
Once we get a new decent Dark-type, T-tar is a goner, imo.

Gen 2 was full of Stall
In Gen 3 its movepool was embiggened with Focus Punch and I guess SS gave it chip damage
Gen 4 buffed sandstorm and gave it better items
Gen 5 gave it better partners to abuse its ability with, and rivals with whom it could use its ability to check
Gen 6 gave it a mega, I guess. It also gave us bravest bird who was countered by it
Gen 7 is also a generation
It's weird remembering that Tyranitar was actually Gen II. Sand Stream is so much a part of its identity now that it just feels wrong.

There was some talk in gen 7 that it'd go down to UU due to tapus: the meta but it never really happened. It's become worse due to fairies but it's not like it's a bad Pokemon.

tons of movepool
auto ability that raises your special defense
It has about 660 effective BST but it's too shitty for ubers.
