Gen 1 Thread

I like Gen 1 Pokémon designs the most. Stuff like Scyther, Gyarados, Snorlax, Arcanine, Gengar, Machamp and Alakazam feel like quintessential Pokémon designs to me.

Why can't smogon just ban abilities? This guy's busted as hidden ability is the only thing keeping him in Ubers. I just want to use my bro in a non-AIDS ridden tier like UU or potentially even RU.

This thread is almost as empty as Kanto

anyone miss gen 1's feeling of "pokemon world is just like our world, except with pokemon" like with the hotel that doesn't allow pokemon, etc.

whereas it seems in later games the world literally revolves around pokemon and raising and battling them to the extent that every business, job, and location has something to do with pokemon

Yeah, the enthusiasm for pokemon in the pokemon world feels so artificial. Why are people so obsessed with them when they've always been around? I liked it when pokemon were just like animals in the real world.

Yeah. Made the games feel a bit comfier, just you and your pokemon travelling the world fighting other people who train pokemon. Now you're walking around everywhere and everything is for pokemon, or related to pokemon. Feels a bit less special.
