How do you stop this epic trio of balance?
You don't
Is ferro there just because rain weakens fire? Also does rain make fire just x2 or x3.5
>>32904916
yea, pretty much
since ferro really only has one actual weakness in fire (fighting does not count) it's basically removing any possible one hit kill
>>32904901
Fighting, grass, electric

Rain teams are a sub 1400 meme
>>32904901
hello
i wish i could delete pelipper from existence
>>32904957
you know electric type is a thing, right?
>>32904947
this is very true.
I was laddering on a new alt last week and rain was extremely common around 1200 - 1400 elo.
At 1500+ rain is really rare.
>>32904970
you know swampert is a thing, right

grass in your ass
With a ferro of your own.

>>32905094
cool now do the calc where zard switches into pelipper the moment it goes in since pelipper can't do a thing to it
>>32905111
specs hydro is a guaranteed 2hko
or they can uturn
>>32905111
ah yes the "this opponent is smarter" argument
no shit the smarter one will win
>>32905118
Specs hydro isn't a thing, even then zard outspeeds and can roost until pelipper runs out of pp/misses.
>>32905121
This is one of the worst posts I've seen on /vp/
Smogonwash + Steelkill UFO + Rocky Helm Swampbender.
>>32905281
why do you type in riddles
>>32904901
The first thing that come to mind is belly drum azumaril with superpower.
>>32905131
>Specs Hydro isn't a thing
Hello sub 1200!
>>32906174
specs Pelipper is terrible
Pelipper is only outside of PU because it's great rain support, why would you gimp it by giving it no bulk no recovery and fewer rain turns
Mega Venasaur?
>>32906194
Specs Pelipper does a lot of damage though, it's surprisingly hard to switch into and great at punching holes for Mega Swampert. Of course, because it's a less reliable and durable rain setter, people will run a backup Rain Dance user such as Klefki or Mega Swampert itself.
>>32905294
Why Superpower? Knock Off clean OHKOs Ferrothorn at +6.

>>32907352
yeah and waterfall only does a clean 70
and if you get flinched you die
>>32907376
And if you dont you ohko him and recover almost all health back.
God the number of casuals in this thread is amazing, haven't they ever heard of switching out?
Grass types can't touch Ferrothorn
Electric types can't touch Swampert
Fire types can't touch either Swampert or Pelipper
>>32907352
Eelektross is shit, name something that isn't useless
>>32907393
that's why they weaken you slightly before attacking with swampert you silly. the most it has going for it is "they can't switch in" assuming you get the prediction right.
honestly you're better off just saying mew.
AV Tangrowth with HP fire

koko

By knowing that they'll lead with Pelipper.
You could lead with something like Heliolisk and, knowing they'll switch to Swampert to avoid the OHKO by tbolt, donk with Grass Knot.
>>32907163
People used to use Volcarona on Rain teams.
>>32907410
>it wont work because everything goes the opponents way and you dont have other 5 mons to use, and he will weaken your e-tross first :(

>>32907457
yep, it's pretty tricky to beat competent players with competent teams using bad pokemon. i'm glad you've learned your lesson, anon.
>>32907490
You're retarded, eelektross beats that core easily. If you fear waterfall flinch you can just switch eelektross to eviolite luvdisc to tank the hit and then outspeed everything
>>32904901
Haven't run into this, what format and what sets?

Pelipper
>>32905118
Who the fuck puts specs on pelipper? Damp Rock is the whole reason you use the damn thing!
if you're using a rain team then I know you're not a good player
>>32904901
I just like overpowering people, fuck math
I use this core, with Tapu Koko, Swift Swim Omastar, and Healing Wish Latias.
Bulky Supersonic Skystrike Gyarados fucks with that core so hard, especially if it has substitute so it can hit my Tapu Koko when I try to switch it in. If Pheromosa wasn't banned it would destroy it all too. Protean Greninja with the right sets and predictions can cause some trouble, and Volcarona with 2 Quiver Dances (send it in vs Ferrothorn, I guess) has destroyed me too, although usally I just send in Pelipper or Swampert and kill it before it can do too much. Charizard Y rarely does too much to me, Tyranitar is actually more annoying even though people don't use it as much as they used to. Also those gay ass Sticky Web teams, been thinking about cutting one of my guys, probably Latias, for a Bisharp just for that.
>>32907454
Because it could run Hurricane and HP water, retard
Now, again, what purpose does Heatran have on rain teams?

>>32912823
How the fuck do you miss Hurricane on a Pokemon with Drizzle?
>>32904916
Rain halves damage from fire. That modification is counted separately from type effectiveness, so it's 4*0.5 = 2* what it would usually be.
Mega Charizard Y
>>32912845
This is a horrible post
I've been using a modified version of my new Mono Electric team.
Mega Manectric, Koko, Defog Zapdos, and Raichu plus Genie of a Healthy Meta. I've been playing around with AV Tangrowth, Zdrum Azumarill, and a few others like Dusclops and Slowbro. To try to one up any support for the rain trio but I can't seem to find a fit for everything. Especially with Zygarde's presence.
>>32911353
bet you think serperior is top ou material too
>>32907544
>Evoilite Luvdisc
I think the answer to this question is SD/Grass attack/Superpower/Stone edge Rockium or Fightium Z, but preferably Rockium Z, Tapu Bulu.
Outspeeds Pelipper and OHKOs unboosted with Z-Stone Edge.
252+ Atk Tapu Bulu Continental Crush (180 BP) vs. 248 HP / 196+ Def Pelipper: 326-384 (100.9 - 118.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Now after you kill the Pelipper lead you'll likely have to switch out because Superpower doesn't OHKO Ferrothorn without a Swords Dance, and you're at risk of taking a SE Gyeo Ball. But after their weather setter is dead you can just kill turns until Rain is gone and use even more conventional means of killing Ferro (Magnezone, HP Fire Nihilego, Heatran, Fire Fang/Blast Chomp, etc.).
>>32904901
Go! Any Pokemon with Freeze-Dry!
LO Torn has no switchins on rain. In theory you could trade mon for mon with Swampert and have the initiative as long as you get the first kill.
>>32915273
Rotom-W
>>32915273
>>32915290
And Rotom-H, for that matter. Can't really break opposing Skarmory under Rain either.
>>32904901
The answer is just use Tapu Bulu
that's literally it
Typical Pellipper run Scald/U-turn/Roost/Defog so it's not even like you'd have to worry about the Hurricane
>>32915290
>>32915301
I don't know that Rotom is typically seen on rain teams. What I meant was that Torn can lead against Pelipper and get a kill with LO Hurricane—leaving little counterplay on rain except to take 60% with Koko or sack and bring in Swampert. This allows you to trade mon-for-mon with rain until you can find a foothold.
