think any sort of team support (not just BP) means a pokemon is bad? alright. remember, shiftry is immune to spores, prankster and psychic moves. you can safely switch on any of those and start building up. you can solarbeam in sun and hurricane in rain. defog is also a good reason to keep one.

How do you use it in the rain? Assault Vest? Its weakness(bar Fire thanks to weather) are exploitable, bulk and speed is pitiful, and offenses don't seem too high. Is it one of those "iffy on paper, good in practice" mons?

i was skeaping on air. i marely gave a few reasons for its usefullness. as for rain-
1. predicting enemy drizzle on your sun
2. running a rain team, keeping shiftry for variaty
3. keeping rain in your team simply because too many of your mons hate fire

at any rate, bug moves aside, since shiftry got moves for heal you can go quite bulky with it. and because it has access to moves like nasty plot, it can still set up and sweep, no evs needed in offense.
tough generally, use it in sun.
