The whole point of the double movie thing was maximum profit for minimum effort. As you'll know there's two versions. Reshiram does more in the one that opens in a desert vs. the one that opens in the Arctic. Not enough more that I would suggest watching it again, but she gets slightly less shafted in Victini and the Black Hero: Zekrom.

The movies are titled after the dragon Ash works with, but because that doesn't happen until the movies are basically over, the other dragon who works with Dread ends up getting more screentime.

If you watch the other one up to the title screen you'll see most of Reshiram's extra scenes.

Basically the Dread's dragon appears at the start, fucks off, shows up again briefly for the "I got the people to agree to come" flashback just under half way through then fucks off again until the end of the movie where it fights with Ash's dragon for about 2 minutes before the shitty purple fire becomes more important and they both play second fiddle to atomic Victini who ends up being 'lol, it's not really dead yo'. Ash's titular dragon only appears in the last 20 minutes or so when he has to get it to stop Dread, with the aforementioned 2 minute battle being basically all it does in the whole thing despite being in the bloody title.

Has anyone of you autists ever considered that they aren't trial captains yet? That the story takes place before the whole shit happened in the games? How else do you explain the random ash-greninja in alola?

I would imagine it would have been to stall time. A lot of it seemed to be padding, with a lot of scenes and shit that amount to nothing, specifically Team Rocket and anything Iris or Cilan do. Again it comes down to them wanting to have two full length movies without having to change that much between them, so they needed simple shit that didn't tie into Reshiram or Zekrom. The lack of a Pikachu short meant it was a 90 minute movie instead of a 75 minute one, which also won't have helped.
