GSC only get praise because of how horrible RBY were in retrospect and the bar was set pretty low. Had Gen 1 actually been good, Gen 2 wouldn't have so many cocksuckers. Not gonna lie, These games gave me much enjoyment whenever I started getting back into pokemon again. Was I an idiot for buying Heartgold, beating the game, then buying Soulsilver thinking that it was a completely different game altogether? I guess. I've personally never found it to be an issue, usually teams of 5-6 are around 9-10 levels below the Champion in every Exp Shareless game unless you grind.
