What can we do about this obvious discrimination? It's bullshit. Fairy got a gym leader the generation it was introduced, but Dark type has better pokemon and has yet to even grace a gym with it's presence.
I hope to fuck gyms are brought back in gen 8 so that dark type has a chance to be anything other than an afterthought to GF.

Just because there isn't a Dark type gym doesn't mean the type is ignored you absolute retard. Your point wouldn't be completely retarded if there were absolutely no important Dark type trainers, which there are several of. There's not even a point in whining about there being no Dark type gym leaders because, honestly, the difference between gym leaders and the elite 4 are negligible at best, both types are boss trainers you are forced to fight to progress the game, which automatically makes them at the very least more memorable than the generic trainer classes.

But really it's because Dark type is/was Evil type. With all the moves being based on underhand tactics and overall very negative things. Taunt, Torment, Foul Play, Payback... And Night Slash is based off the term that was used to describe the action of testing a sword on random passer-by. And it's not just blacks they hate. Japan itself isn't very welcoming to any outsiders. Why do you think they call us Gaijin? My point being is that gyms are usually influences for towns (and cities). Sometimes their hobbies as well. That would be a pretty bleak place. Which is why it was pretty clever for Nanu and Po town.
