That would be a nice boon, as Sheninja could be used recklessly a bit. But all it's defenses still need to be placed into it's offenses though. Is there any benefit of a pokemon with 1 HP having base defenses like at all?

There's the niche case of if it gets baton passed a substitute then hits on the sub run off of shedinja's defenses. Hardly a compelling argument for keeping it's current defenses since it would still likely break in one hit from anything.

No. Shedinja can hard counter a vgc team easily enough. With secondary damage immunity you'd see it on every team.

In my playthrough of Emerald in the latter half Shedninja kept getting killed as if wonder guard basically didn't matter. It sounds like a fucking badass ability and a nice 1 hp balance but it was not in my favor at all.
