2018 Q4, that's like an year and half. And this whole series is presented like a summer holiday, then Ash can go back to Kanto and re-do his first journey because he's younger and more stupid than he was in 1998. And because Gen8 will be a new story in Kanto, imho. Not a remake, just a crappy follow-up 'some years later' which will make no one happy.

This seems to be a bw2/xy situation all over again. 7 months after the japanese release they revealed XY. USUM are releasing in November so if they are going to release Pokemon Switch in 2018 I wonder when they'll reveal it. Ideally a reveal around May with a release around November/December. That'll give about 6 months for promotion so they can show a lot off but not have us wait agonizingly long like with XY.

There has never been a year where neither a game nor an eventmon was released. This means they'd have to break a pattern to keep a pattern in place either way, making the pattern argument null and void.
