How could a Pokemon Digimon crossover work?
>>32866650It doesn't.

It wouldn't.
Digimon have a designated sense of hierarchy. Pokemon don't. The fact single stage Monsters (legendaries or mythicals) are the highest on the chain confuses and enraged Digimon. Worse even, Porygon's line seemingly MOCKS Digimon.

>Digimon could only evolve up to two stages.
>For characters with Burst Mode or something, it's a Mega evo
>All digimon would be stat-balanced for pokemon. Good for the game, but bad on canon
Guest characters in Pokken

>Porygon's line seemingly MOCKS Digimon.
How so?
>Charmander playing a digivice
Might as well have Agumon playing Pokemon Puzzle League.

>It's set in the digimon universe where pokemon exist as a video game
>data from the pokemon game mix with the digiworld
>some programmer/villain thinks pokemon look too childish and wants to improve them
>He redesigns mewtwo into Mewtwomon, who is basically armored mewtwo but instead of fingers it has guns and it has cybor wings
>Lucario turns into metal lucariomon, and now it's a robot
>Gardevoir now looks like a real woman but with angel wings
>every other pokemon is either super edgy, full of guns, just a human or super cartoony
Business-wise, it doesn't at all.
Digimon would have everything to gain from a crossover with Pokémon, but Pokémon doesn't really have any real incentive.
All the monsters are mish-mashes of Pokemon and Digimon

The villain is a kid or a fucking teen, also american, obviosly.
Heck i fucking hate the Digimon artstyle.
Too comic-like.

>>32866650

>Digimon

It wouldn't.
Digimon would require a massive nerfing to be on the same playing field, and are far more intelligent. It's likely that either the Digimon would completely overwhelm the pokemon side of the equation, to the point where Digimon started becoming trainers themselves, or else the nerf-bat would utterly break apart the Digimon universe.
Thematically, Digimon would cross with SMT far, far better than Pokemon.
SMT is a very flexible franchise, so could also probably handle a Pokemon crossover, but it would be far less equal than SMT/Digimon.
Something like skull girls but with pokemon and digimon characters
