I guess this is the place to ask/discuss it, and excuse me for crashing in because I have no one else to talk to this stuff about and my retard brain is screaming at me constantly about it.
Does anyone else feel like pokemon is the only constant in their life? I've had a shit time, and I feel like this game and it's world is all I have, it was what I was given as a kid to play while everyone was out all day, Johto got me through primary, Hoenn got me through intense bullying, Sinnoh was the most excited I'd been in years when it was announced and Unova was all I played in hospital when I was hospitalised for half a year. I don't know, dudes, I feel like it's just always there, even though i've gotten rid of all my plushies several times, here I am surrounded by them again.
I love this game and I sort of choke up when I think about what an impact it has. I know it's not 'real', but it's what gets me through the day recently, isn't that fucking pathetic.
Anyway
Comfy idea: If you're playing one of the games, ask Wifi general to trade you a new bro. I've had a lot of fun making new friends to keep in my save files for life out of this, and discovering new pokemon i've never used in gameplay.
I don't have many pictures as this is a new laptop but I'll go look for some.
Do any of you have pokemon OCs/Comfy headcanons
>>32869393
I feel the same, I´ve had a hard time back in the school days but I always had the comfort of getting home and relax with Pokémon, The anime, the games, the toys, the cards even those coloring books
I alaways was daydreaming about having adentures in the Pokémon world and having a good time with my mons, damn even now I do it from time to time
>>32870053
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I used to wake up extra early just to watch the cartoon before I went to school, always thought it made me a little braver for the day ahead.
You should talk about it, I think we all probably do it at some time. Who's your go-to mon who always has your back and what region would you live in?
>>32870080
I've always loved to live in Hoenn since most of my favorite mons are there, And about my go-to mon it was rhyhorn untill gen 3 when Aggron came out, since the I always have one in my team
>>32870173
Here's a Hoenn pic for you then. I think you've got really good taste, hoenn resonates with me most too I think, although I enjoyed the vibe of Kalos and design a lot of my stupid ocs around Kalos.
Aggron! Awesome, do you like his mega-evolve? I could take or leave them personally, but I do really like mega sceptile.
>>32870192
Thanks, And I have to say that I´ve always loved bulky dinosaur looking mons, so I loved Mega Aggron
>>32870302
Also have a Mega sceptile pic for you >>32870192
I wish I could draw. But trying to write is already hard enough.
>>32871374
Drawing is suffering, anon. Don't become a masochist.
>>32871374
what are you writing about
>>32871483
Random short stories, trying to raise my level above terrible. English is also not my first language so Im constantly doubting if what I wrote is really what I meant to say or if there was a better way to say it.
>>32871479
I doodle and its kinda fun, I guess the fun goes away when you get serious.
>>32871517
Definitely, doodling is the fun part but gitting gud is rough, the human figure especially. I'm trying to get the point where I can autopilot my doodles and they turn out nice.
For what it's worth, nothing about how you type feels ESL and flows well. I hope you end up sharing what make here once you're satisfied with it.
>>32871613
Well Im not a /vp/ regular but I tried to write some pokemon stuff for the write thread, which I dont even know if its still up, some time ago but I was not happy with it.
I just lurk these comfy threads, they fill me with a nice warm feeling that is really hard to find on the site anymore. I actually decided to look for it a couple days ago "I need to recapture that feeling, all this shitposting is getting to me"
And it works, even if this one is pretty slow.

>>32869393
It's the same with me. I have tried several times to stop playing Pokemon because I felt like I have grown too old for it, but I still keep on coming back to it anyway because it has helped me go through a lot of dark times in my life. Sinnoh and Unova in particular really helped me through those times. And it really isn't pathetic, I'm sure there are plenty of other people out there who are just as thankful about how much Pokemon has helped them through and through.
That sounds like a fun idea! I haven't checked Wi-fi General yet, but it's something I should go to sometime. Battling and trading with other people in Gen 6 games are so much fun.
I'm one of those people who create Pokemon OCs. Not trainers, but stuff like you'd see in Mystery Dungeon. I know Pokemon OCs are looked down upon, and there are times where I tried to stop writing them and move on to new characters, but I still love to write and draw them even after 6 years. The Pokemon OCs I write/draw the most are a Sawk and a Mienshao, but so far neither of them have names.
>>32869393
Yeah, I'm similar. I'm 24 years old now, but Pokemon still takes up a very big part of my life mentally. I've always been a daydreamer since I was a kid. It made me take up both writing and drawing, though I don't have the motivation to draw anything these days
>>32869393
I wish I had more comfy pokefriends irl.
>>32868078
After seeing this picture I want all my Primplups to be female
>>32870173
This is the first really good gen 7 art in this style that I've seen, that makes me really happy.
I have to ask if anyone else does the same thing that I do. I'm sometimes pretty frequent in these threads, and almost every single mon that I have on my teams wouldn't have been there had I not seen comfy art of them. When I see a mon looking cute and comfy I really feel a need to breed and use them, and that gives me a very good bond with them. Does anyone feel a similar way?
>>32875072
This is perfect
Ty for posting it anon
>>32868124
Probably because we associate it with a tropical vacation.
>>32875124
I'm very similar, anon. A few years back I saw some great linoone arts where you to was sitting next to items it had planned code up. I thought it looked amazing and it made me use linoone, who is now my bro. I also picked up the Pokémon bank thing for GameCube to get legit zigzagooons that have extreme speed
I'm very into the Pokémon world and I love cozy artwork. Also artwork of adventures, daily lifes , or inspiring landscapes in the pokeworld I love
>>32875147
That's awesome anon! Yeah seeing them in everyday situations makes me want to carry them with me on my journey through alola (or other regions)
>>32875161
Very true :D which mons are your special ones?
>>32875290
Frosslass and Sandslash! I'm a huge fan of snowy comfy art, and Frosslass is just a beautiful mon :) I also really like Mismagius and Sceptile. Sceptile really has a lot of nice art with May :)
>>32875349
I love snowy cozy art too, especially mountains with log cabins. Inot much snow here in Australia- snow in Pokemon games is so neat and beautiful, they music is always perfect too
>>32875349
And Ithose Mons are lovely :D
>>32875452
Australian anon here! I really love seeing snow in Pokemon too. I haven't been overseas either so haven't seen snow ever, so because of that, I love immersing myself in all of the snowy areas in Pokemon. Some people like to rag on about the snowy routes in DPPt and I can sort of see why, but I love exploring through it anyway because it feels like you're on a harsh adventure, but you can finally relax once you reach Snowpoint City.
Speaking of Snowpoint City, the music is just as comfy. It's one of my favourite town themes in the series.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-PgWV8EWJs
>>32875496
:D fellow ausfriend. I've been lucky to see snow irl. It's definitely rather magical but also intense/a nuisance as the games show. You nailed the experience that I love. I was just adventuring around snow point earlier - I imagine the Pokémon centre there is extra cozy
>>32875496
>>32875526
Snowanon from earlier here, I live in Sweden so snow is something that I'm quite used though, but that does not make me any less of a snow-lover in Pokemon :)
>>32875526
I can definitely imagine. I talk to people who live in snowy areas and how it often interferes with their daily lives. But I would still love to see snow one day, because it really is pretty.
Oh man, now that you mentioned it, I'm inspired to draw a bunch of characters relaxing at the Snowpoint City Pokemon Center now. I've been wanting to draw something comfy in a while.

>>32884249
Same anon
Anyway, Im attempting to recruit every Pokemon recruitable in these games.
Anyway, the grind to lvl 100 (For the 24% recruit rate bonus) Is pissing me off. And the later dungeons keep hitting me with starvation traps (Traps that make your food go bad) and only those. It's like the game hates me. Also, recruiting Ho-Oh has been a fucking nightmare even though it's a 99% recruit rate.
Tips?
>>32884249
I've actually never played any of those games. Maybe I should.
>>32884278
Larger size
>>32884284
You should start with the first ones.
No, not should, need.
The Rescue Team games are the humble beginnings, and everything after is an attempt to be as epic as possible.
If you like games with more epic storylines, go with explorers. If you want the game for some story and mostly gameplay, go with Blue Rescue Team
>>32884310
Thanks, Anon! I'll go find a ROM for the first one now.

i'm working on my own pokemon-like game right now. but i really love pokemon. i know a few people who play it IRL but for me honestly i could never get into the DS games so i mostly play the gameboy ones.
sm was kind of disappointing as a game (though it had a lot of bros and comfy areas) so i'm kind of hesitant to want to try the switch one when it comes out. but i'll probably get it since i'm a sucker for them...
>>32869393
Pokemon actually saved my life last year. I was so close to the edge and I had everything ready, but one of the main things that kept me going was that I hadn't finished playing moon.
It's always in my life and has never really left. I love it, and I love the community, as shit as vp is, I still love everyone on here.
I just wish I could find people like you turds in real life. I don't really have any other friends, and I definitely don't have any friends who play pokemon even remotely similar to me.
It's just hard to find people who are relatively "normal" but enjoy pokemon just as much as me
>>32887237
Just some slut on /vp/. She has nice tits.
>>32887845
I didn't hate SM, but yeah, it was lacking in some areas. I'm hoping USM is an upgrade.
Pokemon's got me by the neck. I doubt I'll be able to hold out on the switch game, I only hope that it has better battery life.

>you will never get the pink butterfree in game
Above any other complaint I will ever have with the games, this is my biggest disappointment.
I want that god damn Butterfree, mates. Would have a permanent spot on my team.
Sun and Moon weren't the greatest entries in the series, sure, but I still enjoyed the good things the offered.
