Several single stage mon with similar BSTs could be caught in Kalos before your third badge.

Except why do they need to introduce a pre-evo just to give its evolution moves when they can just give them the moves and skip the pokemon design phase. Giving the babies different abilities doesn't work either because all unevolved Friend Guard mons except Clefairy and Thick Fat Pignite never took off. Baby pokemon have to resemble the evolution introduced before them, and that just reduces the creativite pre evos like Trapinch's 100 Attack and 3 abilities giving it its own identity. They're better off channeling their efforts elsewhere.

Just give the later evolutions the 'new' move, no breeding required.

And if you want a 'late game' Pokemon earlier in another run thru, just fucking breed one on your file, hatch it and trade it. Bam. Level 1 Pokemon you can use.

No fucking chibi looking monstrosity necessary. I hope GF never makes more baby Pokemon forms for already existing Pokemon.
