Only a little bit. Most of this place is just contrarian for the sake of it, and very few people here make good points, or know how to back up an argument.

other than showing me some neat facts or uses for certain pokemon, no.
Most of the board holds little value and especially not any of the posts that think they're discussing anything

If you count "being pointed something out" as "being influenced", then yes.
A good example is the "all Fire starters will be a bipedal Fire/Fighting 'mon" meme. If I didn't come upon it here, I probably couldn't give two shits about it, especially since I've always picked Water type.
