Because they're all useless, Pikachu explains for itself and Tapu Koko is just a recolored form of the one we can catch in-game. I'd rather get events for Pokémo that are't available in this generation, like the Victini event that sarts June 30th in Japan

Events are usually meant to advertise something.

The Pikachu are meant to advertise the movie. It'll probably be a Gamestop thing when we get closer to the international release of the movie.

And the Koko was meant to advesrtise some Tapu Koko GX card in Japan. Since US and Europe are getting a shiny Tapu Koko GX box on July 14th, we'll probably get it then.
