i would completely agree with you if there was an option to skip cutscenes. but yeah once you get off tutorial island SM is a bit better than XY and is slightly more challenging... unfortunately that's still not saying much

That's because the game itself is lackluster. Trials are worse, reskinned gyms, almost every trainer in the game has 1-2 Pokemon, the AI is garbage, and there are some very questionable decisions made with the bottom screen and the Pokemon distribution. In addition all we have is a battle maison reskin for postgame along with a lame UB fetchquest.
