Psychic is weak to Cosmic because not even the smartest minds can comprehend the vastness of the cosmos.

Fairys are weak to Cosmic because in popular media aliens have shown to either resistant or highly susceptible to magic. So I decided to make them resistant. Also Cosmic Energy > sprite magic.

Fighting is weak to Cosmic because most aliens in popular media are shown to be very invulnerable to physical attacks. And you can't punch space.


Ghost is weak to Cosmic because ghosts needs another weakness. Cosmic Energy/Alien Tech > "Spirits." Also see Fairy type.

Cosmic is weak against Grass, Poison, Bug and Rock, because of the trope that Earth born diseases can easily kill E.T.'s because Alien biology isn't adapted to life on Earth.

I was hoping cosmic type would be the new type instead of fairy, but since fairy is real I don't want anymore types

Acid could mean anything though, like battery acid. Acid would by anything corrosive, while poison would strictly refer to venom or biological poisons.

It's bullshit that poison doesn't affect steel because acid corrodes, and stuff like toxic waste can destroy machinery. This fixes things by splitting it up and having one refer to biologically poisoning and the other referring to acids and toxic waste.

Vileplume and Arbok would be poison types, while victreebel and muk would be acid.

you lost me. just because there are 5 good ghost mons: Gengar, Aegislash, eviolite Duoblade, Giratina, and Chandelure are not enough reason to neuter a whole type of pokemon, because I'm sure that's exactly what you want to accomplish with this cosmic type, like every faggot that can't counter a Gengar.

There are only 44 ghost mons, making it the second rarest type surpassed only by the literally most cucked type (Ice). Until there are enough OP ghost mons to actually merit a reclassification, sit your scrub ass down. I swear every time I hear someone goes off on ghost type, they just want to make it ice 2.0.

Cosmic and machine are most likely imo. Cosmic seems to be grouped within psychic and machine being grouped with steel. They should've their own types to make the most sense.

Light type is just fairy type. Same can be said with holy or divine type. No reason for it to exist.

It's only super effective against itself, and has immunity to one of the most common offensive types (fighting) and normal up til about gen 3.

Ghost type is about the best litmus test of a type that exists. If there's a type that needs a reality check it's definitely water before ghost. All of those 5 pokemon are only good because they have wonderful stats and a type that allows them to use it neutrally against everything.

If there was a ground/poison gengar with 130 attack and earthquake, everyone would bitch about that.

the idea is that gengar is good because of it's stats, not because of it's typing, and if you translated it to a ground type, you basically get lando, the most overused pokemon in all of smogon. of course if you merely swap the physical with SpA and keep the movepool similar in variety you just get a downgraded lando, but somehow that doesn't mean ground needs to be nerfed into oblivion.
