There is nothing to do in SM. The Dex is small and most balltists have basically bred the entire dex by the time SM and ORAS came out

plus a lot of it is p. obvious, like Altaria in a Dive Ball or Stingulor in a Double Ball or even Latias in a Premier Ball

Balltism is literally /vp/'s trend. People do it to feel trendy but very few people legit care.

Am I the only one bothered by not using the masterball on a legendary? That's literally what it's there for. I can see not using it in what's effectively friendly spars (like with sun lion/moon bat, the tapus, etc), but who would start lobbing regular pokeballs after being accosted by pokemon Quetzalcoatl or whatever?

It was literally there for that in Genwun and nothing else. It was for Mewtwo because he was retardedly hard to catch otherwise. I save my masterball in case I ever run into a shiny or something and for some unfathomable reason have run out of regular Pokéballs. I won't, because I keep 999 at all times, because that's the only type you ever need to catch anything

Do Pokemon received from in game trades have a predetermined ball, do they always use Pokéballs or will they have the same ball as the Pokémon you traded?
I want to get the French Pikachu with Lt Surge as the OT from HGSS in a Quick Ball(? I think that is the good one) so I can move it forward to SM and get an Alolan Raichu out of it.

I was breeding for all of eevees evolutions to finish my Dex an got a shiny in 5 eggs without even trying . i was glad i was breeding eevees in moonballs so unbreon was the only choice to evolve it in to.
