Look up decklists and prices first, not every GX is good enough to build a deck around so you'll find yourself picking a GX that has a terrible deck structure no matter what you do with it, so look on YouTube and listen to people talk about the cards, they'll usually give you basic info on the card and the strategies that surround it

Take Pikachu EX, a shit card to most, but if you build it correctly with Magnezone it can do pretty well against most match ups who aren't top "meta"

Pre-releases of the set she's coming out is in July and her actual official release is sometime in August iirc.

Typically it's around 2-3 months between Jap release and US release. All major releases get released stateside while we do sometimes miss a couple special Japan only re-releases like Best of XY since they run a different format from us.

Is there a good site for non conventional deck lists?

I normally go to charizardlounge, pokebeach, and pokegoldfish but I wanted to get some ideas for some more wackier decks. I have been having a lot of fun with an Ampharos deck and Haxorus deck I made and there is a bunch of other odd duck cards that could be fun but finding good advice on them is scarce.

I wanted to make a bunch of decks: golduck, typhlosion, talonflame break... But I have no idea where to start.

Completely horrible. Awful art choice. Fonts are all completely incorrect and way off. wtf at that attempt at stroke? Even the kerning hurts my eyes and you have to go out of your way to make that as bad as this. The only colour on the card that's correct is the black font, even the GX blue is wrong - all the symbols are choppy as fuck and the Dragon symbol is just plain wrong. The attack names don't line up and are terribly unimaginative, the attack descriptions aren't justified and even overlap the symbols. Ignoring the fact that no way ever should or would the Lost Zone and GX mechanics be in the same era or format, the card is not even a good meme. You either break the game by neither player having any cards to play into, or are so OP you are completely out of sync with either era.

uh not really at all. Base set plays a lot like standard before SUM came out. Every deck plays blazingly fast with big basics.

Shit, there's never been a format and will never be a format as fast and consistent as base again. Theme had Sycamore as an item card, an acro bike that let you draw both cards instead of discarding one, non-ace spec computer search, item finder, ect. If you wanted a card on any given turn it was ridiculously easy to get it. One of the biggest hazards of playing base was how easy it was to deck yourself out actually, since you could easily burn through 30+ cards in one turn with just Oak/Bill.

If you include the pre TR sets that were banned in the first modified format, there were 3 decks in base era

1. Haymaker - Hitmonchan/Electabuzz core (plus Scyther with Jungle), then you'd see Magmar, Mewtwo Promo and Ditto as tech pokes. By far the strongest in relative terms, and certainly most consistent style of deck the game has ever had.

2. Rain Dance - Basically Blastoise with the old equivalent of rare candy, Pokemon Breeder. Had a really hard time winning if you didn't go first but if you got ahead and got a few Blastoise online it became very hard for Haymaker to keep up since you're free to nail them with super energy removal over and over again and had 120hp compared to the 60-70 that big basics had at the time.

3. Do the Wave - Wigglytuff usually with some tech Haymaker pokes (especially Scyther to cover against Hitmonchan),the Megaray of its day because it was an OHKO deck in a generally 2-3HKO meta.

Haymaker was basically hitting from t1 while the other two needed to get online by turn 2 unless you managed a super energy removal/Lass comeback. There's no theme deck that can even dream of being that fast.

you're approaching it from the wrong end. Raichu is your primary attacker not vice-versa. Lycanroc is there to offer a free Lysandre effect on command which frees up your supporter per turn to allow you get the deep draw that you need to refill your bench every time someone knocks out your Sky Field. You can use this opportunity to launder your Shaymin & Lycanroc through the discard and back into your deck for even more draw and more free Lysandre to choose your targets to pick and choose ones that Circle Circuit OHKOs instead of needing two swings. Stay ahead in the prize race.
You only really want to build one Lycanroc, and fall back to attacking with it if either your opponent is rolling out something weak like Drampa / Zoroark / Darkrai / Oranguru / Raikou / baby Koko, if they have slipped up and tried to utilise Sky Field to their own benefit, or if it's late in the game and either you want something with more staying power than Raichu, or all your Stadia are now in the discard and you need to hit harder. And a spread of weaknesses is always nice.
That both your energies can be Special Charged is just an added bonus that makes it more useful than in a straight DCE deck like a Gyarados or Vespiquen. The fat bench required allows you customise the build to suit your local meta or playstyle with cards like promo Giratina, Jirachi, Oranguru or Sudowoodo.
I've been enjoying it a ton the past week, there's not many decks that can handle it.

My problem with lycanroc/Raichu is that you are using a 90 hp stage one to 2hit KO. Raichu maxes at 190 if you use a choice band and have a full bench of 8 which is no easy task. In addition to this raichu is squishy so you'd have a hard time attatching to lycanroc if the opponent takes prizes back to back. If one really wanted a bench sitter why not Golbat or octillery. Both are a stage one, and can be searched out with a level ball. Golbat help with the one hit kos by adding 20 points of damage anywhere and octillery helps you draw more cards. More cards = more options and it isn't abysmal hand one time abillity. Also if the opponent lysandres and octillery or golbat you'd only lose one prize and not two.

Zoroark pairs better with Drampa but if you want to play pure dark Umbreon does pretty well

Here's my list but I change it daily depending on meta, I haven't seen a Vespi today so I took out Oricorio. With Umbreon you'd replace the Drampas and Team Magma's Secret Bases with Eevees/Umbreon, I'd also add AOR Flareon for coverage against Metagross/Vespi/Decidueye.

Only reason I suggest it at all is because outside Lele its super cheap. Solgaleo is only a pack or two, Drampa the same. Its a real fun deck to play and all. But decent enough to win tourneys in the client.
