what does that mean? it means if you have a defender last longer than 100 hours, then fuck you there's no benefit for you anymore until he comes back

it means if you have two guys who lasted 100 hours come back together then fuck you, you only get 100 coins the rest are wasted

it means that if you have a defender come back after 50 and another after 60 hours fuck you, you wasted 10 coins

it means that the days you don't have pokes coming back, fuck you you wasted coins

it means every day you need to have 100 hours of defenders coming back to hit the cap, and if it's not exactly 100 you didn't get your limit

it means if somebody wipes out all your gyms you're wasting coins when they all come back and you won't get your income up for a while

it means players with multiple accounts who cheat will be the only ones getting reliable coins because your pokemon coming back needs to be orderly and coordianted

As a solo player on a shit team in my city, I had to work to collect my 10 coins a day because I sure as fuck knew that level 10 Blissey gym I just knocked down would be back up by the time I walked to a second gym.

I haven't collected a coin yet because every gym I've taken down has been reclaimed within 20 minutes. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll start collecting 4 coins a day when people get bored of the new gym.

Old system was broken because players like me could barely get coins while some players sat on their ass and collected 100 coins a day doing much less. Niantic solved this by ensuring I'll never have enough coins to buy anything.

I mean, on one hand I'm a little pleased if the players collecting 100 coins a day can barely get shit anymore, but you guys already have maxed out your inventory and you probably have 5000 coins you haven't spent yet anyways.

Oh well, the good news is this game is easier for cheaters. Thanks Niantic.

Im actually liking the gym update. Sitting in my office building currently going to war with another team. Killing all their resources while they keep throwing up these high cp mons. It's taking a little more strategy. Using mons I've never used before on d and o. The coins could be better, but the game play is improved. You shouldn't get coins for just dropping in a mon. They should add initial coins if you actually take out a gym, then one per hour.

The slashed mon are most likely sniped. As in the user teleported a long distance from their local area to grab it.

Shiny was caught randomly. You can't snipe shinies.

The kicker is 99% of sniped mon are safe as long as you got them prior to mid-April. Anything sniped after then is at high risk of being slashed due to how Niantic now locates the catches.

REMINDER:

Niantic CAN NOT detect spoofers who spoof locally.

They can only detect botters and snipers.

Spoofers only need to be worried about being mass-reported, which even then, is pretty much not going to result in a perma-ban simply because there's no way to prove it.

Spoofers, just like walkies, can get temp bans, but that isn't directly caused by spoofing. It just means you tripped up either by catching too many pokes or spinning too many stops. Wait 24-48 hours and it will lift.

This isn't Niantic's fault. In order for them to truly crush spoofing, they would need full permission to each user's phone, and Apple will not allow it.

Dude wat. It took me a lot of effort to get coins before. I was Valor in a city absolutely dominated by Mystic with a few Instinct players here and there. I was solo and I had to take down gyms full of Blissey spoofers every day to collect my 10 coins only to have those gyms go right back up to maxed out within the hour. I'm not butthurt about having to play the game, I'm butthurt that the game made it even harder to collect coins.

Blew through a gym by myself just now with pokemon of varying CPs and there's no difference in gym badge points awarded if you use mons weaker or stronger than what's sitting in the gym. Gym points are awarded solely based on the pokemon you defeat.

Well I guess it ends up being a difference in playing styles? It took a lot of effort for me to get coins pre-update too, but now that it's hourly, I find it easier to drop a mid-CP Pokemon into a gym and feed it from time to time. When it comes back, I nearly double my coinage.

The reason I'm making my first ever post comes from reading hate on this new system. I'm in an area without many stops or gyms nearby so I'm lucky if I got maybe 10 coins every few days. But now I see many trainers complaining about their lack of getting 100 coins a day and it makes me want to stop. Why can't trainers be happy that this new system gives other players a chance to enjoy the gym game? We love this game because it's fun for everyone, and I come here every day because of the knowledge and great information to help me enjoy the game more. Now I feel hated because I'm a "filthy casual" and it's players like me that caused you to not get your precious 100 coins every single day. Now I'm not saying lots of those players didn't put in hard work to get their coins, because they absolutely did. I'm just trying to say that this update gave a lot more players the chance to actually play the game and that's a wonderful thing. Now I can fight a couple of gym battles, feed a couple berries, and not worry that I didn't help my team. It used to be I'd ignore every gym because it's level 10 with Pokemon I can't even touch.

Please keep in mind that this game has millions of players and 100 coins a day hardcore players are in the minority for how the game is designed. IMO the point of the game is to have fun and while many players have fun by getting coins, the old gym system made it so many players couldn't even participate. If I can get a few coins and candies from this new update instead of being locked out of every gym around because I can't take a level 10 gym by myself than I consider the update a massive success! I'm by no means saying the update is perfect; there are a lot of things that can be fixed and tweaked to make it better for everyone. There is a lot of awesome constructive criticism here and many great ideas I hope they implement, but we know they are working hard to make this the best game for everyone.

Oh fuck off. A minority of players collecting 100 coins while the rest of us were fucked was the problem. How many of those players have maxed out upgrades, infinite incubators and full pokedexes? How did Niantic decide to even out the playing field? Hurr durr let's make it impossible for anyone to get more than 4 coins at a time. Fuck that. You'll never get to the level those 100 coin a day players are at because you'll be lucky to hit 200 coins in a year. So after a workout I decided to take down the Instinct gym near my house and they got pretty mad. The well known carfag with his buddy sitting next to him tried to feed their mons but I kept fighting so the backed off and shouted:

They think I'm in the gyms from the other town but I only got into one earlier today on a busride home. Thinking they can intimidating me, while the other town is a Mystic area so if they try they'll lose it a few minutes later, wasting gas for zero to one coin.

I have reported the same 3 multi account spoofer for a month straight AS AN EXPERIMENT, no not waste of time 1 min tops since I created a word doc to copy and paste, and have the screen shots on the my desktop ready to upload, my rountine was to wake up check my email spend 1 minute on Niantic support copy and pasting 3 seperate times to report the 3 accounts since it is only one Player per Report. And guess what happened after a month?

The same multi account spoofer is still active, and with the new gyms up yesterday, guess who was in one of the gyms? Niantic does not care at all, millions of dollars of profit and they can't hire some office scrub to catalog and keep track of cheating reports submitted, they really do not give a fuck. Their office in SF is a bunch of non english speaking japs and foreigners with no common sense. Trust me I have been there and talked to employees coming in and out of the building. They are a fucking joke of a company.

My points is fucking have a department that actually looks into and keeps tracks of reports like it is their personal life, because that is their FUCKING JOB. Like anon said above it is not about auto detection software half the time it is them ACTUALLY reading submitted reports and keep files on a computer of the same spoofer ESPECIALLY if he was reported by different players and then check into his ingame activity and behavhior. It is not that hard, but I really think reports are just pilling up on a random computer at Niantic HQ with no one checking on them, looking into them, or keeping track of them. I don't mind that it takes more work to keep a place in gyms, but that the payoff is so heavily reduced is insane.
No Pokémon is realistically stay in a single gym for the 10 hours it'd take to make 10 coins like before.

You no longer have to work to secure a place in a gym, you just have to hope that one of the six vacant spots is open, then plop something in.

The work to keep a Pokémon in a gym also works against you. When you go to feed a Pokémon berries, it will regain less motivation as you keep feeding it. Unless of course, you feed it a golden Razz berry which'll be in short supply, and max out that motivation.
And even then, a Pokémon can only be fed up to ten times until it gets kicked out.
Note that motivation only drops when it loses in battle, not over time.

The only way a Pokémon will stay in a gym for long enough is if few enough people give a shit to travel to that gym.

I'm starting to feel like "bullying" might be a strategy to win a gym over time. Basically pick out one of the 6 players and make sure he doesn't stay in that specific gym longer than an hour. Then once that person gives up pick the next candidate. It's still probably useless when you're on your own but breaking someone's spirit could work when you have patience...

Ranger anon here. Yesterday I had taken 14gyms and 13 of them were still mine when I went to bed. 9 hours later I woke up to see I still had 5 of them in and pokemon were giving me coins of values around 14 each.
If I can go out there and retake then this gym system will be pretty easy. Weird thing is the 5 gyms I still have are easily accessible in the park. I can assume a kid hasn't walked up to it playing the game yet, even if it is Friday.

I think i took down a 10 level gym in 20 or 25 minutes once, I was trying to see how fast I could do it.

There is zero incentive to play if your on a team that doesn't dominate your area. I'm on Valor and there's 2 gyms by my house. The area is dominated by Mystic though so both gyms are full. If I take them down they're just gonna turn back Blue in like an hour. I'm better off just not attacking it and letting their Pokemon stagnate in there because you can only get a max of 100 coins and afterards the Pokemon in the gym stop accumulating coins. If I dont kick them out then their Pokemon are basically stuck, so I'm just gonna leave them.

Depending on what's in there and how tough it is, maybe 15-20 minutes. I tore down four or five gyms with the standard six (t-tar, blissey, snorlax, dragonite, rhydon, gyarados) in less than two hours yesterday. Local bot/spoof crew loaded all the gyms within *minutes* of them going up.

I've never had a stable gym and this update fucked me over. Yeah gym turnover is pretty high now, but those 10 coins I worked to collect are gone. I'm lucky to get 2 coins now.
The gym system in this game has always been trash, the reason people were upset about the stagnation was because a bunch of people were collecting 100 coins a day doing jack shit while others had to tediously take down a 10 Blissey gym for a fraction of the returns. Niantic didn't get it of course and though everyone just wanted to tap their screens and die from glitched out dodges more when what we really wanted was a better way to get coins like everyone else. Instead everyone now is collecting few coins for way too much effort.

We were pissed because of spoofers and unbalanced teams allowing few to reap all the rewards and all niantic did was go "lol now no one gets rewards" while making the game easier for spoofers and very tedious for legit players whether they're on the dominating team or not.

So my snorblax just got back from the gym after 10-13 hours, and I got around 70 coins. What's going on here?

I get Hanked *every time* with fighting mons.

100% tyrogue became lee with kick/edge
90% machamp got bullet/slam
another 90%+ machop... lv2
Machop #3 = 88%, still don't have enough candies to get it to champ, and I'm probably gonna get hank'd on that one, too.

I've only ever had any luck with Poliwraths, but their cp is so damned low they can't take on anything above 2800.

My rhydon has smash/edge. It chews through snorlax and blissey pretty quick.

Alot of different people not just on this dedicated thread are also complaining why so much effort for such little reward? Gym battling is fun and teh core of pokemon like with old games but with this his pokemon go why are you going to put in so much effort when spoofers and cheaters are just going to fuck it up for you, since Niantic does not want to tackle the problem, and for what? such little reward? you will have a incubator in 3 months kek and the funny thing is they designed the gyms to require more effort when cheaters are goign to offset all progress for no coins. So you are forced to buy coins. This game logic is lost to creedy cucks running a half ass company.

Can't wait til Niantic fucks up PVP next.. After they fuck up raids, legendaries, pre gen3, and future events. Can't wait.. back to catching mons and finishing my dex since why even bother with gyms..

My TTar came back with 71 coins after 12/so hours, I'm not sure either, maybe there've been some changes to coin/hour. My Vape that died after 4 hours gave me 4 coins though.

Also, somehow Instinct has completely dominated my town? This is amazing but I don't know when or how it happened. Guess they were all hiding their time like I did and struck all at once. I'm proud of my normie teammates.

Sorry to hear that, if you have a firefang-whatever high almost max cp high iv Arcanine, they work pretty well too. And can take a hit or 2, mine melt and finish off Blisseys when I run out of my 3 perfect fighting machamps. Dragonites work well too since you are not going to be placing them in gyms anytime soon.

Speaking of which, is there any trick to super fast exp gain? Is lucky egg+ evolving spree still the best way?

everytime I click home and exit the game or minimize it, and of course gps is turned off temp, when I return to the game without having to reload it since I have 3gb of ram on my phone, that pokemon vanishing this happens. It is such a fucking easy fix GOD DAMN IT NIANTIC! If only isis played pokemon go, maybe Niantic would actually listen lol

Finally I have a reason to visit gyms again, so I can upgrade the amount of items I get from them.
