There have been version exclusive events in the past, but nothing major, and both versions always had events at the same time.

Ex : Reshiram/Zekrom in Pokemon White/Black respectively

So with this plus Gallade, Gardevoir, and Lopunny coming up next, we're only missing Ampharos, Altaria, Diancie, and the Latis.
