I have not played since the second generation and I was trying the emerald and I chose the grass type. What team do I have to do to accompany it?

Just make sure you get yourself a water, rock, or ground type before the 4th gym. Treecko itself handles a lot of the game pretty easily, aside from the fire and flying gyms.

Wingull is is an excellent teammate, they cover a bunch of each others' weaknesses. Treecko itself is the weakest of the Hoenn starters, but it looks the best so it's worth it i m o. It's a bit of a slog until level 29 where it learns leaf blade and demolishes everything but the flying gym. Good luck!

This guy (>>32840418)'s right about the flying gym (although I always managed to make do with my Sceptile, despite that fucking Skarmory), however I actually always managed to hold my own against the fire gym with him, despite the obvious type disadvantage. *shrug*
Just get Leaf Blade and demolish all of the competition.
That all said, glad you picked the objectively best Hoenn starter.
