Not particularly, but it would be nice to see back. I understand not doing it in Gen VI because doing it with the portraits would've been a bit awkward, but there isn't much of a reason VII couldn't have done it.

Fuck that literal noise. Last Pokemon was cool, as a climatic thing, but the low HP song just killed the vibe of any important battle. I find the brief beep of VI and VII ideal, but it'd be alright if they instead had a variation of each battle theme for low health that felt more dire and maybe implemented the low HP beep as another "instrument".

I do too, it just needed to have an optional toggle to disable for important battles.

That shit made every gym battle so much better. Maybe it was partially because I was always underleveled for them but it made each badge feel like a real accomplishment.
