Loads of types aren't Grass. It's resisted by everything under the sun. Furthermore, Sceptile's just got weak offenses and needs all the punch he can get even if it means taking an accuracy hit. Grass doesn't have a Fire Blast/Thunder/Blizzard equivalent for some reason, even though even Game Freak is aware Solarbeam is vastly worse than those and is a useless move on anything but very specific Fire types.

Neither do Bug, Ground, or Psychic, yet Bug Buzz/Earth Power/...Psychic... still manage to get the job done. And Electric and Ice never use Thunder/Blizzard over Thunderbolt/Ice Beam outside of Weather. Grass has Leaf Storm for the nuke option, which, again, some types don't even have. Looking at you, Rock. Energy Ball is fine if sweeping is what you want to do, Leaf Storm is there for punching holes. Very few types can do both at the same time on the Special end.

If you're talking about Sceptile specifically, it has other problems that a better move won't solve. An Ability change to Grassy Surge for either base HA or Mega is closer to what you're looking for.

Grassy Surge, while undoubtedly amazing, isn't a tutor move. I'm addressing what the thread is about instead of its incredibly shit abilities. And, as it happens, there are many Pokemon who run Fire Blast or Focus Blast because they need the power over accuracy- Sceptile is one of them. Leaf Storm is not a viable sweeping move, it's a pump and dump move and does not fill those role of a Hydro Pump clone - fuck, it doesn't even have 100 accuracy. Energy Ball is not a substitute for a Fire Blast clone, that's simply a fact.

Incineroar NEEDS fire punch and thunder punch. I'm no expert but I'd say the biggest reason Incineroar is sadly in PU right now is because he lacks any water type coverage whatsoever. Giving it thunder punch and fire punch won't make it OU by any means, but he'll at least be able to get out of the bowels of PU.

Drain punch/superpower would also be nice but I'm not holding my breath.
