It gets shit on a lot for being an objectmon, and being literally just three Magnemite stuck together, but I really like the idea of a pseudo-hivemind of magnetic organisms held together by a shared magnetic field. The Magnemite line as a whole is very underrated, I feel, but Magneton seems to get the worst of it.

In fact the major hate that it gets started in Gen 5 when the hating over object Pokémon started being rather massive. People started punishing the whole generation because of a few designs. In defense of the whole generation and the concept of "creativity", Magneton, Voltorb/Electrode and Dugtrio were all put in the "hating spotlight".

That's really bad though. Magneton isn't the most intelligent design ever, but it has its touch of greatness (the animations really help, its attack animations are cool and kawai as fuck).
