Pretty much. Not with Whiscash specifically, but there are plenty of pokemon I didn't really care about until well after they were revealed. Mostly it's the starters that are like this for me.

Happened to me with Crobat. I was annoyed when I had to use a Zubat in a Nuzlocke, but I was really surprised by how strong it got as time went on.

Yeah, this happened to me so much. Thanks to /vp/ I got over my hate fr the eeveelutions, the emboar line and most grass types, and found my real favorite pokemon in carnivine.

It really take very little, just playing with them on showdown or a nuzlocke, or seeing good fanart of them, t bring you around to liking a pokemon you didn't like before.

This is why I wait for Fanart to decide whether I like a pokemon or not. The regular stuff gamefreak and TPCi always is so static. Fanart often adds the bit of extra character needed.

It happens to me a lot. I think it's got to do with Ohmori's artwork doing the pokemon zero justice so these days I have to see the models to make a real judgement. Hopefully with him being out of the picture this'll be less true going forward

Muk. I never liked Muk until I happened to catch a Grimer in a Pokemon hack it was one of those RPG Essentials games and Muk is fucking amazing
