too much violence. Apparently their was a gang war episode between Plasma and Rocket where they actually used rockets and laser bazookas instead of just pokemon. They actually blew up city blocks which is too dangerous for Western television.

Around the time the two-parter was about to air, an earthquake and a tsunami hit Japan and has killed thousands of people. In respect to those who got killed and injured, they pulled these episodes from air and had to quickly replace it with the episode about Ash's Gym Battle with Burgh, because the two-parter included scenes such as a Liepard using Hyper Beam on a building.
