Alright guys, I'm looking for the best deck to grind the ladder. Not really looking for consistent wins so much as fast wins and/or making my opponents want to concede.

I'm tempted to go back to vileplume lock, but the garb matchup is horrible if I want to keep any speed.

With the new streak system you are best off going for consistency since you'll get the streak bonus and therefore climb the ladder more quickly if you can string even four or five wins in a row together. It's something like, you get ten points for a win, plus an extra five for every game in your streak. So five wins in a row means you've earned 10+15+20+25+30 = 100 points, instead of ten first turn wins over the course of twenty matches.

If you're still just looking for quick and easy just play Typhlosion updated with a Mallow engine. Or something that's easy to autopilot in the background like some Darkrai deck.

Codes from everything from breakpoint to breakthrough to random starter decks purchased to guardians rising. I just hoarded them because I couldn't bear to just toss them, and all my friends would collect them for me because they didn't want them and knew I had them. As >>32838896 said. I'd also reconsider Weakness Policy with Field Blower being so prevalent right now, since they can just blower it off before attacking. Might also consider adding a third N if you can, good for draw power and disruption. You'll likely never need more than one Pokemon Center Lady. If you have any Vs Seekers, add those. If not, they're rotating out of standard format in a few months, but will still be perfectly useful in expanded, which you're looking to be playing with this deck. I'd also suggest adjusting your energy ratio, since you're not likely to have more than three or four of each in play at once. I'd go for a 6/4 split of water/dark personally, you don't want too much energy in a deck because you can only play one per turn, so the more you have, the more likely you are to wind up with an unusable hand full of them.

Draw cards are measured by how many cards they cycle.

So Tirno draw 3 has a cycle of 4 (Counts it self and the three you draw) Sycamore has a Minimum cycle of 8 making it at twice as good. Discarding cards is not always a bad thing. There will always be things that you don't need in a game such as extra energy, pokemon, or tech for other match-ups.

Shuffle draw is for when you can't discard resources in your hand: cards that you need. It has far less Cycle than Sycamore but it's important to have. N is the best Shuffle Draw by far since it also acts as a disruption ca rd late game. Hala or Colress are the other playable shuffle cards.

Search Cards (Fetches or Tutors) are only as good as what they can find. They're good for decks with lots of moving parts where you need to pull of a combo rather then having more options.

It's hard to know what to do at first but there are enough resources for this game you can read up on it if you want.

Yeah. Flareon makes all stage 1s a firetype. There is a Vaporeon and a Jolteon who do the same thing, but Golduck is already water and nothing really in the meta is weak to thunder so there is no real reason for them.

If I have Golduck in play he can 1 shot a Bulu or Lurantis with 2 energies in hand. Hopefully with Starmie on the bench this wont be hard, which I am running 2. I am just not sure what would make this the most consistent. That being said I am running a few rescue stretchers so really discarding either wont be that bad.

I mean this deck will suck, but it's for shits and giggles.

No it isn't, I've tested a hundred flips in theme on Timer Ball and I got 27 heads. I go first one in every 5 to 10 games. I quit using any deck with hammers because I never hit them, and I started running Carbink in decks that don't need it because I get hit by hammers more than half the time. I never play Expanded or Legacy any more due to Laser never keeping them aseep and me staying asleep more than 50% of the time, forcing losses and very often turn 1 donks due to me starting a 30-60 HP basic, going second, getting laserbanked and staying asleep, and not being able to do anything. I can semi-accurately predict what a game will be like solely from my first 7 cards, without even seeing my opponent's start, because I've seen the game recycle the same forced bricks while giving my opponent everything they need that turn that I can tell when I'm not allowed to win.

Shit gets so fuckng boring, especially if you play with real cards against real people and know just how awful the client screws players. It's not even worth getting mad over, it's just a shitty client that will never get fixed.

Do energies rotate? Like, if I got one of the roaring skies decks for it's double dragon energy, would I have to worry about that rotating out when roaring skies does?
For that matter, though I doubt it, do basic energies rotate? I've noticed the client making distinctions between them, and the only reason I could think for it doing that is either cosmetics or because you have to use basic energy from only sets in standard.
